Re: upgrading my kangoo from a 600kg payload to a 900kg payload
You would probably need to submit the vehicle for a VOSA examination - DVLA could re-classify it once it had passed.
Only thing about it though - how would this affect the insurance? It will always be a 'modified' vehicle. I know (having a slightly non-standard van myself), that anything is enough to either load the premium, or mean that insurer will not even provide a quote.
Plus, in addition - there's the extra wear & tear on brakes & clutch from lugging a lot more weight than the van was intended for.
I would suggest selling this van that you are outgrowing, and buying one which will fit your needs - it will be much cheaper, both now, and in the longer term.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
