Just a quick update....
I visited my local SC Motor Factors this afternoon, to
buy the first of the possible faulty items.....
and I had a very interesting chat with the guy behind
He started off by laughing, and saying
''uh oh - It's Renault day!''
obviously they've had a few beleaguered owners in now it's getting colder.
Anyway - long and the short - I described the symptoms
(all lights on/off as they should, strong start, fires 1st time, runs rough at 500rpm for 60 secs then revs increase to 900rpm perfect therafter)
and he asked me if it's had ever been serviced at a Renault Main dealer .. I roll my eyes and say nope, what am I? a Rothschilds!
He says it sounds like it needs a software update!
Apparently, those 'rich' peeps who get their cars serviced at Renault get these updates without Renault even mentioning the car needs them,
or that they've even done them.... it's like a trade secret or something.
given me the phone number of our nearest dealership and
the phone number of a friend of his who works for Renault
who can update it for us, but keep Renault themselves out of the loop ... if you know what I mean!
Just thought I'd run this past you guys and get an opinion or two
oh Renault - you sneaky lot!
