Re: Clio rough start from cold

Ok .. had a new battery fitted yesterday afternoon.
Noticeable extra ''whizz' from the starter afterwards.

Cold start this morning at 2*c - running still rubbish.

Engine fired within 1st second (1 preheat) - then immediately stalled.
Restarted again - engine fired and ran lumpy/rough for 1 minute, then behaved itself thereafter.
All lights fine - on/off as they should.

And I had to recode the radio - which I'm proud to say I did myself with no instructions just the code! ... something which I gather from the forum is nigh on impossible with any Renault lol.

One thing the new battery DID fix ...... you know the headlight sensor, that comes on when you enter tunnels, at dusk or low light conditions?
Well, mine hasn't worked for 2 yrs - wasn't sorry - an annoying little feature imo.
Once my Clio started this morning - BAM, on came the headlights!!!
I know - just crazy!

Anyway - continuing with Plan A - done glowplugs, new battery didn't work - will now try temperature sensor(s).

I also see a few more new threads have popped up today for the same thing/same car!
Wonder who'll fix theirs first
Currently in BillaBongBaby's garage:
