can someone explain these dry joints in a Clio key, and if you can ''lubricate them'' or something... please?

I've also heard people here talk of cleaning their key ...
is that opening it and cleaning inside, or just the metal bit sticking out of the plastic fob?
I'm already using the 2nd key (have the other key which is filthy, prob needs a new battery too) have used the 2nd key since the day we bought the Clio - so most likely 1st key is crap!

Currently in BillaBongBaby's garage:
03 CLIO 80 Billabong 1.5DCi special edition in metallic Blue or is it Green?
