The Sat Nav box was re-fitted in the boot and replaced/moved as it suffered cable chewing damage from the previous owner's dog.
As has been suggested in here that I have modified a standard 2.5 and tried to "fool" people, that is not so, and the originator of that post is way out of line.
Mods, please remove that comment, it is defamatory
The car is in the same or even better shape that when I bought it in August 2010. I have replaced the rear seat back, (the old one had a few dog chew marks), new front bonnet support struts, cracked rear light lenses have been replaced, the dodgy heater fan now works well, having been fixed and refurbed along with the uprated relay to go with it. Auto box
and Aux belt/assembly changed by a specialist.
The new owner is very happy, and in fact told me it drives better than his last 2.5. he picks it up next weekend (weather permitting), and he has an MOT until Sept 2012 with no advisories.
This is the first time I haven't got a Renault since 1985, after 2 x 18s (Phase 1 and 2), 2 x 25s (Phase 1and 2) and 2 x Safranes (Both phase 2)...Renault haven't made quality well engineered cars since the 90's.
As for 35 +mpg, that is averaged over thousands of miles of "brimmed" re-fills and is not a one tank figure as has been suggested....also, near as damn it the same as the Computer reading.
It goes down to around 34 mpg in winter, and goes up to almost 37 mpg in summer.
If it had a manual box, then I would keep it, I just like manuals while I am able bodied! The Safrane Phase 2 16V 2.0 I had was a dream to drive with a manual box...just cannot find a good one now.
