You can get it open by climbing in from the back! There is a small lever that you can move across and this will open the boot, you'll need a thin screwdriver to do it!! The megane boot switches are prone to water ingress and this stops the switch from working so you cant open the boot. Had this happen to mine. Easy to fix with a new boot switch! The other problem could be that the mechanism has gone! I'm pretty sure there is a "spring like" device inside the mechanism which is also known to fail
