Not wishing to reinvent the wheel in this thread, but the faults with the Laguna 2 are well documented & very hard not to find if you conduct a search on the forum.
Personally speaking, if you are minded to buy a Renault again, then I would consider a Laguna 3 (e.g. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...ge/3?logcode=p
) this is by no means the highest-mileage example (there are a couple closer to £3k, but with over 130k miles on them). They seem to be far more reliable (which probably explains just why they have reached such mileages).
You could probably negotiate a discount, and factoring in less to spend on repairs bills - it could well prove to be the wiser purchase.
