Renault Clio 2 - 1.5dCi Non-Start*2xFIXES*
My friends 2004 1.5 DCi Clio has a non-start fault. The red engine management light with "STOP" in the middle flashes when ignition is switched on. Will crank but not fire. Sounds like no fuel. No airlocks in fuel system. Checked engine management, and recorded folling DTC's:
P0089-Powertrain, Suction Control Valve Stuck. P0190-Powertrain, Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit. P0670-Powertrain, Glow Plug Control Module Contro; Circuit/Open. Ok, after recording these, I cleared the faults. Still wouldn't start, but DTC's didn't return. After checking connection to fuel pressure sensor and doing a "battery reset" the car eventually started. It ran ok, but would fluctuate, revs would dip, then come back up. Would idle ok for a minute, then cut out after a short time. Would restart sometimes, other times would not. Eventually would not restart at all. Thinking it is the fuel pressure sensor itself at fault, anyone else had this fault could shed some light on it?? Is it common for the sensors to fail? Or wiring fault more likely? The DTC P0190 did re-occur, but the others didn't, so just wondering if they were red-herrings maybe? Any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks.
