Re: Renault Clio 2 - Bonnet Catch Failures

I have seen 2 or 3 Clio's at the side of the road over about 4 years that have had it happen, mine touch wood as been ok and I am very careful closing it and keeping it and the safety working freely, if this does not happen any were else the only thing I can think of is that it's to do with the amount of sand and salt spread on UK roads at every opportunity in winter.
But It still only seem to happen o Clio's so there must also be something in the cars make up that contributes, maybe the aerodynamics aim road crud at the lock or put a lot of lift on the bonnet so the slightest weakness ends in disaster.

Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?

If you find a fix for your problem please let us know it will help others.
