I would have said that it was a lot work due to the front panels being different,but if you compare the part numbers between the different Mk2 phases then the slam panels,front cross members and front panels are the same.....

There are extra headlight mounting panels on the later version that aren't mentioned on the early ones,but if you were lucky you should be able to buy them with the headlights as I guess you'll be looking for second hand parts.

The only real pain will be modifying the wiring for the new headlights,but again if you are looking at second hand parts then you could ask for the connectors and short pieces of loom to be left on the headlights and then you'd just need to match up the wires in your loom to the new connectors and solder them together.
