I can tell you what colour primer you'd need for your car's colour, plus if you tell me what colour the bonnet actually is - you may need a coat of contrasting primer just to 'kill' any residual colour causing a mismatch by leeching.

Oh, and I have also removed & replaced a bonnet on my own - but it isn't easy, as there are few handholes, and the ability to bolt the bonnet whilst holding & supporting it is quite a risky proposition.

I couldn't in good conscience recommend you do that alone, hence my mentioning the need for assistance.
