The anti-roll bar bushes on the Scenic II have a tendency to make a noise similar to what you're describing if they become worn. There have also been instances of suspension springs breaking but looking at the pics it appears fine.
Oh, I meant to add mine makes a horrendous noise over speed bumps too. It was originaly coming from both sides but so far I've only managed to change the passenger side anti-roll bar bush. It's a very akward job as there's no room to work in there and even less on the drivers side due to where the steering column comes through the bulkhead.
I think I have CDO. It's like OCD, but with ALL THE LETTERS IN THE RIGHT ORDER
