Re: Scraping noise from brakes

When you say the scraping noise returns randomly, do you hear it when you first use the car that day?

If so then it will more than likely be the surface rust on the discs being cleaned off by the pads, the noise should stop after you have used the brakes once or twice.

The speed at which the discs will turn rusty depends on a few things, if the car stands outside, if the discs are visible through the wheels, if its raining etc.

If you don't use the car everyday the discs will have more surface rust on them so the scraping noise can sound worse until it gets cleaned off.
