take it thats a clio 2.should have been done on a recall.watchdog hounded renault about this and they gave in and recalled all clios for a check/replace of bonnet catches.what it really boils down to is tool monkeys not spraying the catch parts on a service.a matter of pence in wd40.but ££££ssss to sort out
what happens is when the catch is pulled the lever moves to release the pin,but without lubrication fails to return to its closed position may seem closed by its hanging by a thread ready for the wind to rip it open.i saw this happen to a girl driving the other way to me was not a thing i would wish on anybody.get in touch with renault.
