If the existing captive nuts are furbarred you can use roofing self-tapping screws which come with their own large washers. They rae usually known as cladding bolts. Most decent building suppliers stock them and are usually plated to resist corrosion.

didn't get the chance to do this last week, but just looked at the replacement tray and there's quite a few "extra" holes - can i opresume that its ok to drill extra holes into the frame without weakening anything?
