Wheel arch liners - important??

Went over a kerb earlier and the front-passenger side wheel arch liner ripped straight off (it was already loose) - just wondered how big a deal this is? Is it important? Will it kill my car not being there?

I only intend to keep this car for another 8 months or so, and it went though it's MOT last week so I don't really want to spend 40 on a replacement and then muck around fitting it if I don't need to.

Any advice appreciated!
