I would definitely replace it.

I wouldn't imagine a second-hand replacement (if the original is too badly damaged to refit) would cost anything like 40.

It may be possible to repair using washers around the screw-in fixings to compensate for any torn loops, and cable-ties to join the sections together.

It doesn't have to look pretty (after all, it won't be seen by the onlooker), but it will help prevent expensive problems.
