Re: Had a crash, now I need some advice.
a replacement seat is about £75
you also set off the seat pre-tensioners!
the rear axle stub and possibly the rear axle is knackered.
the axle stub, Flange, bearings and rim are a write-off. the axle stub end is probably bent along with the axle bushes knackered.
it would be cheaper to get another rear axle and just swap it over. (£150)
once the seat/axle are replaced you need to get the errors cleared off the
and the airbag system needs resetting and testing.
once all thats done you should be ok.
all in price about £250-400.
winter tyres would have been cheaper
Hi thanks for your advice, I took it to the garage today and purchased a new rear axel (thanks to your advice) from the scrap yard. I give it a check over and is now in the process of getting repaired. I can also buy a new seat with an airbag, onece that is fitted how would I go around getting the
cleared? and how much would this be? and I don't mean to sound like a newbie but what are pre-tensioners and what is their function? and do these need to be replaced/repaired/cleared?
I will update you tomorrow as to the status of my repair. Thanks a bunch so far!
