Thanks for the clarification. Suffice to say, it was sooted up and this affected the running. Cleaning resolved the issue.

I gleaned these names from a Haynes manual, in one section its called an air pressure sensor, another, as you say, an air temperature sensor. As there's an inlet air temperature sensor on the front of the engine, I settled for the former. It also listed your MAP sensor as a "Throttle Potentiometer". All I can say is, I tried my best.
