Suggest you look at the Megane items i.e item
Renault Megane - Engines - Juddering megane.
Recently updated. Petrol engines + coils .
You will loose power in consequence of a coil going faulty. Since you are loosing a cylinder, the longer it goes on, the more chance another coil will cascade down too. Putting your foot down to compensate, will help, but not a good idea, attention should be given to sorting it out fast. After taking delivery of my two Meganes 1.4 &1.6 (S/H), both gave trouble within days - both were sorted by finding the faulty coil & replacing it.
On the second occasion I would not let the garage
repair the car, they only wanted to replace one coil -
I changed all four. Reports indicate once one goes down, they tend cause the others to later cascade. Replacing one is OK for a road side - get up & go -But not long term. No! I'm not an expert on coils nor sell them -mine came via the INTERNET. However
numerous people do have coil problems.

Currently in SamWoerth's garage:
1.6 Megane Saloon MkII 04 - previous MkI - wrote off- back ended
