Yeh circled bit in pic 2 is where the pin goes I think.

Well its easy enough to check.

leave the fuel flap open.
Hit your central locking .
If the pin pops out you can see the solenoid is working and its just a problem with the hole on the flap lining up with the pin.

This could be related to pic one if the catch is so worn that it doesnt allow the hole in the flap to line up.

Then again if the solenoid pin doesnt pop out, it could be like my old car which didnt have a locking fuel flap for like 7 years cos I want gonna pay to replace the solenoid
Or maybe the wiring to it has come loose/fuse gone,cant tell.
Didnt matter much then but with the price of fuel /diesel now..who knows.

Gl fer now thas all I can think of.

Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
