It's more often the passenger side plug that plays up, look on the side of the plug it will have a green I think sort of tab on the side if you gently leaver that out words it should separate the connection, spray with contact cleaner and it may be ok but you may have to solder the wires but be careful as they can have strange color codes, so make sure you know which goes were.
Check the toothed reluctor rings on the drive shafts for any looseness or grease, you can buy just the rings on Evil bay but make sure they have the same number of teeth.
Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?
