You may take a balanced view and not take other's comments as gospel, but not everyone would do that. 'we' need to err on the side of caution to protect the forum, so that it is there for all our benefit.

regarding your scenario about a missed/late service by a previous owner, that is pretty straightforward; the warranty company would make it conditional before the policy began, that a service was carried out to bring it all up to date, then ensure that the current owner services it correctly. Or, they would make it onditional that the car was serviced more frequently to ensure cover was valid.

But that really is for the prospective customer to ask about.
