Re: Megane Mk 2 Pollen Filter

Pollen filters have a much smaller porous membrane than cooker hood filters and are electrostatically charged to collect fine particles. This permits exceptional fine particles to be trapped - thats why they are directional whereas cooker hood filters generally work in either direction. Plus an ill fitting filter can cause the air flow to become misdirected as one or two members have discovered.

Personally I wouldn't take the risk as a poor air-flow will definitely reduce the life of the blower motor and it ballast resistors. Like all motors they need a means of cooling and the air-flow into the car helps disipate any heat generated by the motor. For the sake of a tenner or so why risk a burnt out motor or resistors.
