Minimum Brake Pad Thickness Increase?

Just had my 57 Scenic put through its 54k service by my regular dealer. They said my front brake pads were shot at 9mm and rear ones almost at 11mm because the minimum thickness was 10mm.
I pointed out that all previous services quoted 6mm min and every bit of info I can find says 6mm min, including backing. They couldn't agree as the "screen says 10".
Anyone know of a new specification from Renault or is it a faulty screen?
