Just out of Renault garage this morning and one question I asked was about my Hands Free locking as it wasn't working on the both drivers side doors. The answer I got about fixing it was:
If its a sensor, and there are 10 of them, (5 to lock and 5 to unlock) then each has to be checked and if faulty it would be replaced at a cost of about £80 for an unlock and £20 for a lock one (not including fitting!)
Apparently you can have problems starting your car if the sensors are faulty but a fix is to disable this feature in the ECU which the garage would do.
