Question 05 Renault Trafic sticking handbrake

Hi, I changed the rear pads on my trafic a week or so ago, everything went ok but I now have a sticking handbrake on the osr. When I release the handbrake the operating arm on the caliper doesn't return to it's stop. I can reach under the van and push it back to the stop but it doesn't want to go under it's own steam. when both arms are back against the stops I can wiggle the ball on the end of the cable so the cable has enough slack.
Any ideas?
The arm is fixed on with a bolt, is the mechanism inside accessible / serviceable, is it likely to be internal?
Any ideas gratefully received, it's a big lump to leave in gear!!
