One of the worst quotes I can hear from a customer is; "Can you come and take a look, I've had a 'go', myself..."

What that means is - they have made it (much) worse, which then reduces my hope of a great result...

I can see the potential that this method may actually work, but on a much larger (dustbin lid) sized dent, on a flat, springy panel, with no side impact bars to inhibit movement - basically nothing like the dent or your car, in fact.

I wouldn't attempt to pull at the dent either, since its on a curve, the force applied must come from within, and worked across the inside of the damage.

I would search for SMART repair or PDR and get a few quotes/ask to see examples of their work, before commiting.

Otherwise you risk ending up with a blemish that no-one will need to search to see.
