I got in my car after work today and started her up, only to find that the digital mileage counter was garbled.
My car is getting on a bit - a 1998 Renault Megane Sports Coupe with 124,000 on the clock, so sometimes some of the (what's the word? The bits that make up the digital screen...) can be faded, but nothing like this.
I decided to turn the engine off and start the car again in case it was just confused but to no avail.
Is this a common problem with Meganes? Furthermore, how much of a hit in the wallet am I looking at to get it fixed? (I'm hoping that it's not a dealer only job!).
I've had problems with the speedo ever since I bought it, it will stick on 0mph until I've been driven for about five minutes, so if a fix on the digital screen is reasonable I could hopefully get both fixed at the same time.
Cheers all, hope it makes sense!
