The easiest solution is to just go for a voltage sensing split charge relay. The last time I looked, Towsure were doing them cheaply enough - Towsure – Towbars, Camping and Caravan Equipment

I've had these relays on my last three cars and they've always performed without problems.

Just one other thing: Where have you sourced your permanent live feed? As far as I'm aware, none of the Renaults have any interior feeds that are capable of charging the caravan battery and running the fridge at the same time. You really need to run a fused feed directly from the battery, though at a pinch you can hook into the interior fuse box.
