Re: 1998 scenic paint code

Hi there and welcome.

As you can see from above - your car isn't Vert, its Gris Fjord (the years don't tally-up), for it to be anything else.

What also has to be borne in mind is that the paint on your car is 14 years old, therefore some of its pigmentation (colour) may have faded/reacted with the sun over the years, and paint which is 'factory-fresh' may well look different. There were also 5 formula revisions over this period - to further complicate matters.

Can I ask what colour primer you have used? It should be grey for this basecoat. Different colours of primer (matt black/red oxide/white) will all change the appearance of what comes next.

In this case, it may be the best course to get the paint made up by identifying with paint chips, rather than relying on the code to provide the closest match.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
