Re: Renault Scenic II - Access the resistor pack in 5 mins.

Hi Guys,

I've done the modified loom & new resistor pack. AABarnes Method. However I've had a problem.

40Amp fuse blown and short traced back to the connector block which I connected the Red / Black output to. The connector block had melted and the two brass connectors arced. (I Blew 3 x 40A fuseís before I gave up wiggling).

Problem identified and rectified, or so I thought. New resistor pack required.
Resistor blown & fan working on 4 only.
So new resistor bought (not OEM) Lots of smoke & fan worked on all settings for a couple of minutes before the resistor burn out.
Okay I thought not OEM part so best get new one. Then thought from the bits I have could solder the original good working resistor across. (normal solder is not hot enough for these connections, must be a weld thing). Anyhow I did solder to test which did work on all 4 settings for about 5 mins then melted.
Okay, For me itís back to check the mudded loom connections..
