Re: Loose steering wheel

what is loose ???

is the actual steering wheel wobbling seperatly from the column, or is the entire column and steering wheel loose.

on the back of the steering wheel (lower section) there is a hole. shove a flat screwdriver in there and press the metal spring in and the airbag will unlock and slip up. push the airbag up and it will unlock and come free. lift up and flip over. you will then see a TORX bolt in the middle. it should only need nipping up a little (dont try to tighten up like a regular hex headed bolt or it will never come off again torx bolts are not supposed to be tightned up too much. the splines are taking the pressure not the bolt, they should have nut loc on them to keep them in place.)

if its the entire column that moves a bit. then its the 13mm bolts that clamp the column to the dashboard cross bar that are loose. remove the cowling and the speedo covers and push the column towards the dash and tighten them up. refit covers and your good to go.
