What happens to noise when you coast in neutral at over 40mph. Does it stay or go.
If it goes then it could be engine related.
If it stays, it could be a bearing or gearbox noise.
To get an idea if you have a wheel bearing fault.
Don't forget ,tyres on some coarse tarmac road surfaces can make a right racket.

I read somewhere that you could carefully do this if you wanted to.
Find an empty, wide, smooth, flat, or slight downhill, piece of road in the dry.
Turn heater AND your music off. Windows up.
Get up to noise speed and press clutch, then GENTLY sway car left then right. As you go right, this will load the wheels and bearings on left side.
If noise gets louder then you may have a bearing going on the left side.
Get back up to speed and do the opposite to test bearings on right.
If it's noisier both ways then at least 2 bearings.
If not much change in any direction then it could be a gearbox problem.
