Brake pad replacement and the right tools for the job

I have a megane classic 1.6L (model year 2000) and I would like to know if the front caliper piston simply pushes in or needs to be rewound/screwed back in using some sort of special or improvised tool. Also, anyone have the bleeder screw size info at hand?

As always, thank you in advance.

PS. Reason for asking is that remote buddy has kindly offered to replace the front pads, but does not want to get stuck at moving the piston back. Also, he would like to make sure he has the right size brake bleeder open box wrench in his toolbox.
