It is NOT recommended to use copper grease on the back of brake pads as it rots the caliper piston boots - water then gets into the piston bore causing it to seize.
Brake manufacturers recommend using a special grease. Castrol Red Rubber Grease being one example.
Are the discs worn either having a lip on the outer edge or a radious at the inner edge where it meets the centre hub?
so why is it most brake pads come with a small sachet of copper grease when bought would have thought if it was a problem they wouldnt supply it
