Re: Renault Megane - Engines - Chugging Megane - Toxic Fume Filter

Hi all.

I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to technical stuff, and can't seem to find an answer in layman's terms.

Basically, over the past two weeks or so, the car has been reluctant to start now and then, and when it was started, it was a chugging. Seemed to be fine while driving. Yesterday morning on my way to work, the Toxic Fume Filter light came on, didn't notice it flashing first but it was just constantly on. I parked it up, and it started fine when I left work but the light was still on.

Today I've tried starting it, and it won't go at all. I've gathered that it is probably a coil problem, and to check all I need to do is disconnect the injectors from the engine. Anything I can do if I can't even start it? Can't get it to a garage until Tuesday at the earliest and I'm not with the AA.

Currently in Fulooly's garage:
