The 1.9 single cam Dci engine is one of the easier timing belts to change - no need to lock the camshaft - get yourself a Haynes manual it covers this apsect fairly well.

Most people don't change the glow-plugs intil necessary bit personaly I would think they should be good for aropund 60K miles. Using a simple multimeter to monitor their resistances should let you know if they are deteriorating.

Sorry I have never ever considered a remapping a Renault engine purely on the graounds that the renault software is difficult and expensive enough to read as it is. But that's purely my persoanl view. Renault use a different protocol in the ECU 's so very few code readers are truly compatible.
