I've actually now removed the inside panel of the tail-gate so I can manually open the tail-gate from inside and also operate the lock manually. Did it not occur to Renault that people in the vehicle might want to get out ?

What's the idea, with regard to starting Renaults, in allowing the starting motor to flatten the battery when the engine's not ready (e.g. no ignition)?

Well there's a couple of things for starters - anything else strange going on in Kangoo land ?

Looks like you have a number of faults which need repaired and each would need properly investigated to find the exact cause. These type of faults are not confined to Renaults although they may be a bit more common.
