Re: Laguna III soft brake pedal

Your model may have brake assist. The braking system measures how fast or quickly the pedal is depressed and applies the brake accordingly.
Take the car to a safe area and try a few tests yourself. Drive the car up to a speed of around 20 mph - press the brake sharply - the pedal should go firm quickly and the car should stop quickly.
Try the same again but depressing the pedal slowly and watch the response.

Personally I don't like the feel of brake assist on the few occasions I have driven such a car and I suspect it would take time to get used to it.
Sadly I'm old enough to remember when power assisted brakes were rare and when I got my first car with a servo it took me a few weeks to get the hang of it.
