I didn***8217;t have problems like those you describe but in the same position I feel initially WD40 alone may not be enough if the bolts are well corroded in, there's not going to be any gaps in the threads for the WD40 to get through to do its job.
Try some good healthy belts SQUARE ON THE HEAD with a hammer and a soft drift, hopefully this will break the seal between the threads caused by the corrosion, now try WD40 again.
Also if you***8217;re using a socket and extension FFS keep the extension square on to the bolt or the bolt head will break off.
