Re: Vibration and Resonance - Where from?

Hi all,
Finally back again. Went away on hols, in the Rover, and so havent been able to do much for a while.
Anyway the new discs and pads came whilst I was away and I fitted them on Thursday, well mostly, one of the slider bolts had seized solid in the carrier bracket on the passenger side. Tried heating it up to get it free and as soon as I put some force onto it to loosen it off it snapped. Trying to track down a carrier bracket at the moment in the Cannock area.

Anyway, whilst doing the work I happened to grab hold of the driveshaft and there was quite a bit of lateral movement. Both driveshafts had this.
Could this be the source of the vibration and resonance?
Would packing the boots with grease reduce the movement enough to test if that could be the problem before I shell out more money on parts?

Thanks for all the replys so far, been very helpfull.
