Naturally, do this on a dry day, with the affected panel in the sunshine so that it dries to a gloss as quickly as possible with minimal moisture absorbtion.

I am considering trying a DIY paint job to repair?improve upon the hailstone damage to Laquer on my Capsicum Red1999 Megane.
I think that I can remove the damaged laquer without damaging the colour coat, by lifting it off with a strong adhesive tape; this happened with masking tape by accident when I attempted to repair the mirrors.
Is original Renault laquer acrylic or spirit based?
What thinners should I use for each of these?
Is Halfords spray can Laquer compatible? I think that it is acrylic.
I will be very grateful for any guidance and advice.
