Just purchased an 02 plate laguna 1.9 dci Privilège for £2800. Admittedly its done 120k. I've done a fair bit of reading on these forums and have a fair few questions.
Im hoping somone will be kind enough to answer them for me.
The car has no service book, so no history. However it was owned by a lease company so probably has had it serviced on the nose.
At this milage what additional things can I do as general maintenance? I've heared of things such as cleaning the
valve which I gather isnt part of the service schedule?
At low revs in 1st and 2nd im getting a sort of hesitation when I gently accelerate, almost feels like abs kicking in on the passenger side wheel. Any ideas?
I'm getting 38-40mpg or 90 miles to a tenner. Is this about right? I was expecting a bit more, could it be linked to the above problem?
I Have a plasticy rattle from the front drivers side of the engine, quite loud. Any common faults in this area?
Is it worth chaning the gearbox
? Its a 6 speed box which I hear is quite fragile? Changing the
on my old 19 seemed to help.
I used to service my old Renault 19 TD myself. Can services be done yourself on these or will you have to reset some computer?
Does anyone know how much harder a cambelt change is on these engines than the 1.9 TD's? I've been told its very similar.
My drivers side xenon light(and funnily enuff my main bean) is not working. Is this likely to be just the light or the ballast?
Apologies for such a long post. This is my first 'modern' car after years of R19's and its quite a leap for me. Any help is much appreciated.
