Vel Satis Pioneer ICE
Right. I want to fit a Pioneer head unit in my Vel Satis, and I want to use the steering wheel controls, and maintain the functionality of the seperate radio display.
Pioneer sell an adapter for the steering wheel remote, which may or may not work with the display. The Pioneer literature states that this adapter will work in ANY Renault fitted with a "TunerList" VDO head unit, which I believe mine is.
However, when I spoke to a customer services man at Pioneer to confirm fitment, he said the Vel Satis was not on Pioneer's list of compatable cars for this adapter.
Does anyone have any esperience of using a pioneer steering wheel remote adapter on their car, or know if the "TunerList" stereo fitted to my car is the same as those in the Megane and Laguna etc?
My local ICE outlet said I should order the part and just see if it works. However, I would rather just stick with the current radio if replacing it means losing all that functionality, and I don't want to pay to have the whole dash taken apart just to see if the unit will work.
