Thanks mate, I will check tyres first as there are loads of loose bit of stones and concrete at the front of my drive so it is certainly possible that there are some in treads.

Is it a standard type jubiley clip on CV boot holding it on or a special type, and would this need to be replaced(Not the whole boot as that had been done just before I bought the car) but just the clip securing it.

Also what type of grease should I use, I have a couple of tubes of copper grease but presume this is different.
