I've worked out how to turn the spring - there's a metal bit in the inner face of the clockspring which gets compressed when the clock is fitted. You need to manually press this and the spring will then turn.
Now just need to work out which how many turns etc. to centre it and which of the aligning 'holes' to use (there's a couple of possible holes) but I think it will be easier when I have the old clock spring off and use that as a guide... (then again, if you get it to the centre with the right number of turns then you can't go far wrong, but i like comparing stuff as a further reassurance)
Did you ever work out how many turns it took? I have just purchased a 'squib' off
and a bit worried about breaking it trying to find the centre point. Mine seems to turn constnatly with little resistance!
