You had two threads on this earlier. The other was within a Scenic II thread.
I answered your other one, but just to say that a puller is the only way.
No idea where you got the information that it would just come off in your hand. It has the bearing built in, so that wouldn't be an ideal design.
Once the hub nut and washer (if fitted) is removed the disc should slide off the stub axle - I have done this stacks of times. But if the stub has corroded or the bearing has overheated at sometime then they can be a devil to move. Once of Lag 1 I had to take an angle grinder to the disc and bearing. Thumping the disc doesn't always help as you can't get a direct swing at it.
