I'm glad the info is of use to others.
Removing the cables from the unit really helps if you want to do a good job of freeing them and lubricating them. Having them vertical whilst lubricating and moving the cable in and out flushes out any crap in the inner cable. Seal the cable with tape etc and do not shorten their length in any way.
As you can see the mechanics of the unit are fairly simple. The electronic unit is a pain as it needs to be programmed on the CAN bus with the Clip tester.
