Mobility Scooter in Renault Kangoo

Can anyone help please. I have a Renault Kangoo, which is factory converted for a wheelchair / scooter.

I have just bought a mobility scooter, which just goes in the back, but the problem i have now found is the weight of it, manufacturers say it weighs 320lb, which is not far off 3 hundred weight, the scooter will be in the vehicle most of the time, as i live in a retirement flat and the lift is very small, could not get the scooter in it.

Is this going to be to much weight to leave in the Kangoo, could i get stronger springs / shock absorbers etc.
Any help and advice, much appreciated

Many thanks
